Job Description
Data Analyst in the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid supports operational effectiveness and regulatory compliance by managing, analyzing, and reporting financial aid data. This role oversees weekly Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) reports to ensure students are reviewed appropriately, statuses are accurate and updated for end-of-term processing, and eligibility is maintained. The position develops and maintains financial aid reports, assists with compliance audits, supports fund management and reconciliation, and collaborates with campus partners to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and adherence to FERPA and federal financial aid regulations.
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Manage the Eligibility & Compliance Unit processes and technical requirements.
Job Duty 2 -
Prepare routine and ad hoc data reports for OSFA purposes using a variety of techniques ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining. Write SQL scripts and execute BANNER processes.
Job Duty 3 -
Analyze data related to eligibility and management of Federal Pell Grants, Federal Direct Loans, HOPE/Zell Miller scholarships and NCAA/ACC requirements.
Job Duty 4 -
Lead projects to review, initiate, and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit and the department.
Job Duty 5 -
Serve as Unit Level Coordinator for systems testing.
Job Duty 6 -
Serve as a training resource for OSFA staff.
Job Duty 7 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Due to the nature of this position, the schedule will require work outside of a normal work schedule on occasion.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
SKILLS
Must have strong analytical, communication, and project management skills. Must be able to prioritize tasks and projects. Strong data analytics, database management, and report writing skills are required. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, are required. Must be an expert in the BANNER Financial Aid module. Must be able to write and execute expert SQL scripts. Must be able to write and modify Crystal Reports.
