Job Summary

This position is responsible for evaluating, analyzing and processing financial aid documentation on students to determine aid eligibility and make awards within federal, state and institutional guidelines.

Responsibilities

· Is responsible to understand, support, and carry out the college's mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies.

· Verifies accuracy of documents and consistency of data from federal tax returns, financial aid transcripts verification document and student information; performs data analysis to identify discrepancies in data

· Request additional information for incomplete or inconsistent applications needed to perform accurate need analysis.

· Processes applications according to federal guidelines or regulations; denies aid if ineligible; performs needs analysis calculations according to the guidelines and determines eligibility and appropriate award donors, adjustment, changes and/or corrections.

· Answers questions, inquires, or requests from students, parents, or guardians in person or in writing regarding financial aid programs and eligibility.

· Analyzes various system-generated reports to verify continued compliance and eligibility and notifies students of changes to amend the differences

· Prepares invoices for scholarship and grant funds

· Reconciles scholarship and grant funds

· Assists in the preparation and presentation of financial aid information at meetings, group discussions, workshops, and recruitment sessions

· Notifies students concerning delinquency and default status; manages default prevention procedures

· Schedules student exit counseling sessions

· Performs batch processing and file transfers from the Department of Education

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

· Prior experience in financial aid is preferred. 

· Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field

· Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one (1) to two (2) years

· Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated

$44,000 annually
