Job Summary -

Georgia Institute of Technology is seeking a knowledgeable and student-focused Financial Aid Officer to support both online and in-person student populations in navigating the financial aid process. This position is responsible for assisting students with financial aid applications, managing federal and private loan programs, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing excellent customer service. The Financial Aid Officer will play a key role in helping students access the financial resources they need to achieve their educational goals.

Job Duties

  • Aid Year Transition Support
    Ensure accurate financial aid processing when students move from undergraduate to graduate status within the same aid year.

  • GRA/GTA Funding Review
    Compare assistantship resources (GRA/GTA) with the student’s actual cost of attendance (COA).

  • Graduate Budget Support
    Assist in building and maintaining cost of attendance budgets for graduate students.

  • Graduate Loan Processing

    • Process federal and private graduate loans, including Direct Loans and private loan certifications through ELM.

    • Complete aggregate loan limit reviews to ensure student eligibility.

  • Outreach and Communication
    Coordinate with campus partners to distribute information and presentations for online graduate programs.

  • Graduate Coordinator Liaison
    Serve as the Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) representative at Graduate Coordinator Meetings.

  • Backup Loan Support
    Provide backup support to the Assistant Director of Loans in areas such as loan origination, disbursements, and rejection resolution for all student types.
