Reinhard University seeks an experienced Financial Aid professional to direct the office of Financial Aid. Under the direct supervision of the Provost, The Director of financial aid is a member of the scholarship task force, helps develop long-range vision, short- and long-term strategic plans, and contributes to campus-wide initiatives in student success and experience. 

 

The director will:

 

  • Administer all financial aid operations and scholarship awarding.
  • Supervise, evaluate, and support the staff members in the office.
  • Coordinate the distribution of automated packaging and financial aid awards.
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures are in compliance with appropriate state, federal and university rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Serve as a primary advisor to the enrollment management staff in promoting recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Financial Aid Office and the Business Office, Registrar’s Office, and/or the Development Office in matters relating to financial aid and ensure that necessary communications and record transfer occurs relative to financial aid between these offices.
  • Serve as liaison between the college and state, regional, and national professional organizations.
  • Encourage the professional development of staff and their participation in professional financial aid organizations.
  • Provide reports to the Provost, scholarship task force, and other agencies as required and/or requested
  • Maintain accurate and complete records for all students as required by federal, state, and college rules, regulations, and policies, and make those records available for required audits.
  • Encourage student-oriented services and positive problem resolution.
  • Develop all financial aid brochures and written information in collaboration with Admissions and Marketing.
  • Ensure adequate long-range planning activities for the department.
  • Annual completion of FISAP and regular maintenance of the ECAR and other Department of Education related requirements.
  • Responsible for assisting in the design and/or development of functional/technical aspects of Powerfaids module; assists in updating the collection, tracking, and reporting methods used to analyze data.
  • Collaborates with IT to participate in on-going system development and maintenance.
  • Responsible for the new year set-up of the Powerfaids module and testing of system updates.
  • Perform routine batch processes to import applicant/student data into the Jenzabar system and transfers data between systems.

 

  • Interview and counsel with students, prospective students, and parents as requested and required by rules, regulations, and policies to include financial planning, financial aid application, and debt management.

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Four years of related experience
  • Knowledge of database preparation and maintenance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively de-escalate difficult interactions
  • Strong commitment to customer service
  • Collaborative, holistic approach to problem solving
  • Must be analytic, organized, innovative, detail oriented and able to multi-task
  • Must possess high ethical and professional standards; be highly motivated; flexible; adaptable, and service oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities, balance competing priorities and accomplish tasks effectively and efficiently
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Extensive knowledge of information, practices, and procedures in Federal Student Aid, including state and federal laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of Student Information Systems
  • Must not be in default on federal student loans and have ability to access federal student aid databases (NSLDS, COD, FAAaccess)
